My life before triathlon

I grew up in a little village near Jena in the heart of Germany. Around our village - consisting of 35 houses - are many fields and forests. My grandparents have a farm and I learned early to love everything in the nature. That's why I studied forest science. But during my studies I discovered my love for triathlon. But the way how I got in contact with this sport was pure chance: my husband worked at a fire department and he met a doctor who was the president of a Triathlon Club. Before doing triathlon I only run, swim and cycle a little bit because an accident a few years ago robbed my dreams to become a cyclist. But that's another story;-) So we just tried it - and it was amazing! I won my 1st triathlon and was affected by this sport.  To that time I've never thought of doing it professional. 2 days after my examination I did a long distance in Sveden and finished in 9:48. I know that there has to be more potential because until then I only trained 10 hours per week. I decided to try my luck as a PRO!
