East London = London in England
hääää? Yes, I mean the weather. Next to IM 70.3 Wiesbaden it was my coldest and wettest competition ever. At the swim we had 14 degrees in the Indian Ocean and I got cramps in my hand and couldn’t feel my left arm any longer. Oh dear – it was cold! Added to this I missed the swim group while jumping over a wave and falling down into the water during the startL
On the bike I didn’t have any power – don’t know why? And on the way back we had for 80% downhill passages and wind from behind: I didn’t have enough big gears to go hard on the way back.
But therefore I had a really good run and when I crossed the finish line I was disappointed that the race was already over.
My 2 team mates did a great race: Jodie won and James became 2nd!
All in all it was a good training day for me!
I’m proud of our friends Susi and Marcus: they weren’t able to swim freestyle 6 months ago and we don’t want to talk about the cycling with a road bikeJ Seb and me supported them with training and helped them in every way for finishing their first triathlon! And they were great!!! Congrats!
Thank you to everybody who supported me, esp. my husband and our friends: family Rossouw! Trevor and Kelly were fantastic supporters while Pam and Alex took part, too.
The last minute before the race I was supported by Allen&Dutton Optometrists with contact lenses (without them I couldn't see the buoys) and Jeff and his bike shop "cycle torque". THANK YOU!

My 2nd home
Since 2008 I stay every winter for minimum 3 weeks in South Africa and every time I love it more! It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen!
Although the 1st days here were not so nice because it was raining the whole time I loved to be here. But now the weather is great and I feel much better from day to day. At the beginning I had some problems to get used to the heat but now I'm back in training;-)
My best session was in front of the house in the river: my friend Trevor was paddling in his boat next to me and I swam 3km. On the whole way there were dozens of jumping fishes! It was so great!
I don't only love this country of its people and landscape - one of my most favourite animals lives here - added to this it's my zodiac sign - and always my ideal;-) Here is only the little version of it:
